3-Day Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi NP

This is a short trip organized only to visit the mountain gorillas found in the southwestern part of Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You’ll be staying in basic lodges with a private toilet and a private shower with hot running water. It is a perfect trip for last-minute travelers and also travelers on a tight budget seeking to combine a gorilla experience with a typical wildlife safari in East Africa.

Itineraries

Our guide will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast and then depart from Entebbe\Kampala by road and head southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Have a stopover for some informative talk and a splendid photographic opportunity at the Equator. Then continue to Mbarara town for lunch. Travel through the rolling green hills of Banana and Tea plantations and head to the national park. Dinner and your overnight stay are at your accommodation choice.
Early in the morning have breakfast. Then with your packed lunch, you will report to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park officials. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the gorillas, which can take you half an hour to three-quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. 1 hour is allowed with the gorillas for photography and observation as they play, feed and groom. Dinner and your overnight stay are at where you spent the previous night.
After early morning breakfast, you will drive back to Kampala\ Entebbe International Airport for your flight out later in the evening. This day is reserved for evening flights through Entebbe International Airport or a post-night to be organized in either Kampala or Entebbe.
